You might think why the hell I've put those annoying watermarks on top of the pictures. Because an online news site misused one of my pictures
+ people are downloading my pictures without saying a word.
Now they get them with my signiture on.
If you're interested to get any of my pictures without watermarks please ask! Very simple! :)

Hi there! trust you are having a great day!!! I love these doors, in fact I love doors fullstop, but these are truly special - I'd put up with sand for a few days to see and photogrpah some like this!!!

I'm mounting a one woman campaign against your signatures. I understand about the misuse and the downloading (though I'm always pleased when I see mine have been downloaded because it shows someone likes them!) however . . . it's a bit like letting burglars frighten you into baracading your home. You are letting photo-raiders spoil your art. I know lots of people use signatures but I specially like your photos - hence my campaign and it is in all friendliness.

P.S. I know I'd be cross if a newspaper used mine without permission and, if they were used commercially, I'd be VERY cross - but it's swings and roundabouts! L.

ReplyDeleteA must stop when in Cairo. Unfortunately I wasn't paying much attention to doors and windows when I was there, but was more awestruck by all the merchandize and people visiting the bazaar.

Those doors are magnificent. I can see why you would get angry if a newspaper uses your photos without permission. I would, too. You could try for more subtle watermarks. It's an art in itself...

Oh wow, wonderful capture of detail I can almost feel myself those ridges and that wood... and yes I am strange in that I do love to run my hands over beautiful structures like this and feel the different textures through my fingers. lol.

ReplyDeleteHello looking at these doors reminded me of my time in Saudi Arabia. Really poor form that others use your photos without the common courtesy of asking but perhaps like the doors its considered old fashioned?
